Welcome to our section featuring ashtrays and match strikers. As collectors will know, there have been just as many, if not more, different shapes, sizes, brands, advertising themes on ashtrays etc, than were ever featured on whisky water jugs.
Over the next few years the numbers of smokers will continue to reduce both for health reasons and because of anti-smoking legislation. A knock on effect of this will be a reduction in the number of advertising ashtrays and associated items. The tobacco related advertising collectables of the recent past will become even more scarce.
We have only just started accumulating ashtrays and match strikers, and our collection is relatively small. This section aims to make it less of a drag (if you pardon the pun) for collectors who don't want to trawl through a long list of jugs, just to find an odd ashtray here and there.
